Description & Uses
AlphaChem Boardfix FR is a high performance adhesive foam, providing a fast and
effective method to bond various construction materials including plasterboard. The
fast‐acting adhesive means that plastering and wall plugging can begin within 1 hour.
More economical and a lighter material when compared to plaster, and far easier to
use and apply.
Boardfix is fire rated to B3 and will not burn.
Best for mounting heat insulation panels and filling voids during adhesive
Advised for wooden type construction materials adhesion to concrete, metal
Applications needed minimum expansion.
Mounting and isolation for frames of windows and doors
This product does not contain any propellant gases which are harmful to the ozone
Ensure all surfaces are clean, sound, dry and free from dust, grease or other
contaminants. If the surface is not clean then pressurised water can be used to
clean the dust.
Optimal can temperature is +20 °C.
Application temperature is between +5 °C and +35 °C.
SHAKE THE CAN VIGOROUSLY BEFORE USE. Approx 30 times. Repeat the
shaking at intervals.
Screw the can onto an AlphaChem foam applicator gun. The output of the
foam can be regulated with the trigger and controlled with the adjustment
screw on the back side of the gun.
To apply the foam TURN THE CAN UPSIDE DOWN and press the trigger, the
output of the foam can be regulated with the trigger and controlled with the
adjustment screw on the back side of the gun. Always keep the can upside
down during application.
Apply the foam around the perimeter of the board and then at approximately
40cm centres. Once applied leave to stand for 3‐4 minutes before pressing the board to the wall.
Apply pressure across the full surface of the board and hold in place for approximately 1 minute.
Panel can be corrected in 15‐20 minutes if required. Total cure time is 2‐3 hours.
Fresh foam can be cleaned with AlphaChem Foam Cleaner. Cured foam can be cleaned mechanically.
Never leave the gun separate from the can of foam without thoroughly cleaning first.
Before changing cans on the gun, close the valve, then unscrew empty can and replace immediately with
a full one.
5‐10m² per 750ml can.
Store in cool, dry conditions between +5 and +25°C.
12 months if stored as directed.
Storage above +25 °C and below +5 °C shortens shelf life. Lower temperatures also decrease
yield and curing time.
Should be stored and transported in vertical position.
Should be kept in room temperature for at least 12 hours before the application.
Cured foam will discolour if exposed to ultraviolet light.
Paint or coat the cured foam for best results in outdoor applications.
